Update to the Web Site and Server

Posted : 15 Aug 2002 (initially posted via email on 13 Apr 2002)

I updated my web site in a major way over the last few days. Most things can be accessed from the home page. Things look the same but a lot is different behind the scenes.

If you haven't seen my access pages, check them out. Useful links to lots of sites. Personally I find these more useful than pulling down my favourites and bookmarks menus.

Added my monthly pricelist to the site although I will email everyone first, prior to posting the info on the web.

Added all my previous email newsletters to a newsletter section on my web site also. Updated a couple of them also. Many found the Photoshop hints and tips one particularly useful. If you haven't seen that one it may be worth having a look at.

New and expanded support and information for domain name clients hosted on the Horizen server.

Also, my Mac OS X G4 Unix server finally got installed and connected to the Internet on Friday. I will be migrating web sites and email accounts over as I continue to get software installed and configured. Much larger capacity (8 times more RAM, 60 times more hard disk space, many times faster, etc.). I hope to offer more services as things get configured and set up, but my priority is to maintain existing services and reliability. I'm often amazed that my old server ran as well as it did as long as it did. In fact it has performed so well over the years that I never really had to upgrade. However the volume of email recently has increased quite dramatically which effectively required me to install a new machine with much greater capacity. If you are interested in what computers and software I run see here :

Any questions, don't hesitate to give me a call.
